road trip
yes it may be Winter now but it's also a good time to think about a road trip ....
it's time to think about -
- getting out of the house to a warmer spot
- possibly exploring someplace you haven't been
- buying one of those really cool 3-corner hats like the colonial aristocrats supposedly wore
- traveling with friends for the purpose of just carrying on and having fun
- celebrating the entrance of Spring with expressive dancing that only you can do
- beer and music (OK that goes with every season and there should normally be no planning required for beer or music)
so the Toosday Night Band is planning a road trip to williamsburg virginia.
we'll be playing at the Corner Pocket on saturday 3/13.
this is a great spot - wonderful menu selections in the restaurant and a comfortable bar with good beer and any fancy drinks you can think of ( I know for a fact they can delicately mix a double shot of Jameson's neat). plus they have an enormous billiard room ( 13 full size tables ) where we'll be playing, adjacent to bar area. it's a large space so Buzz can turn up to 11.
why Williamsburg??
mainly we want to have a chance to hang out together for a couple days, goof around with however many friends can join us, explore a bit as colonial tourists, and play in a nice place where we don't have to wait for aunt ethyl and her cronies to finish dinner before we're allowed to move the tables and set up our gear. williamsburg isn't too far away, and there may be some old, and new, friends in the area who would like to hear us play.
the Toosday Night Band is-
paul kruis and buzz deardorff on guitars and vocals; jason hennessey playing bass; travis warlow = drums.
and special addition adam powell joining us from richmond on percussion and enthusiasm.
